Sep 1, 2008Introducing Metcalf Hodges' New Identity Read More
BELLINGHAM, WA - September 1, 2008 - Metcalf Hodges, a Bellingham-based accounting and business consulting firm, today announced the introduction of its new identity, which was developed by Bellingham marketing firm Baron & Company. The identity includes a new logo, as well as the tagline, "Where tradition and innovation meet."
"This new identity is a combination of two of our core traits: a long history of helping individuals and businesses in the local community, and a commitment to being on the forefront of accounting practices," said Stephanie Artino, CPA and principal at Metcalf Hodges. "This update is something that we've planned for over a year, and we're very excited to be able to introduce it."
The company's previous logo had been in use since 1980.
"Not only was our former logo dated, but we felt it wasn't effectively communicating who we are as a firm and what we have to offer our clients," said Artino.
At the risk of being perceived as outdated by potential clients, the firm's three principals began discussing their desire for an updated visual identity with local marketing firm Baron & Company earlier this year.
"While discussing this project with the principals of Metcalf Hodges, what we uncovered was a real integration between two traditionally opposing concepts," said Brian Sibley, account manager at Baron & Company. "There's an obvious history to consider with Metcalf Hodges, which is represented in their new logo by a historic brown color, rooted in the past and moving to the right. At the same time, Metcalf Hodges is a very forward-thinking accounting firm. For example, they were paperless before it became common practice. The firm's commitment to innovation is represented with a fresh blue color that's moving up and toward the future. It's the integration, the blending of these two ideas that we used to create a fresh, new identity for Metcalf Hodges."
Following the delivery of the new identity, the two firms worked diligently to put it in place. This meant replacing anything that used the old Metcalf Hodges logo: creating new exterior signage, painting the building to match the new identity, ordering new print materials (everything from business cards to envelopes and stationery) and designing a new Web site, which is scheduled to be completed in the fall.
"This has been a strategic investment for us as a company," said Artino. "Our new logo and tagline truly communicate who we are as a firm, as well as our goals for who we want to be in the future."
Those interested in seeing the new Metcalf Hodges identity can do so by visiting www.MetcalfHodges.com, or by driving by their office at 770 E. Holly Street, across from St. Joseph Hospital's south campus.
