NORTHWEST AGRICULTURAL BUSINESS CENTER

The Northwest Agriculture Business Center is a non-profit organization created to promote sustainable local agriculture in Western Washington. In addition, they provide business consulting services to local producers seeking to create and develop markets and value added product offerings. Baron & Company was asked to help develop a brand for the organization that combined serious business expertise with an organic connection to farming.

METCALF HODGES

Metcalf Hodges is a northwest accounting firm committed to helping small and medium sized businesses achieve their financial goals since 1964. To this end, the firm uses forward-thinking practices combined with its traditional focus on customer service and integrity. Metcalf Hodges approached Baron & Company to help craft a new look and feel for the firm, one that would more appropriately tell this story. Baron & Company introduced a mark that wove together a historic brown color rooted in tradition with a fresh blue color moving toward the future, and paired it with the tagline, “where tradition & innovation meet.”

WHIDBEY ISLAND GROWN

Whidbey Island Grown is a non-profit located on Whidbey Island Washington that is dedicated to the advancement of agriculture practices on the island. The brand Baron & Company delivered is now used on products grown on the island by residents of the island. Products range from meats, cheeses and vegetables to non-food items such as wool. The requirements of the brand were to create a connection to the ag heritage of the island while creating a sense of the unique character of an island-based agriculture community.

The Upper Crust Catering is a Seattle-based catering company that has been serving local clients’ since 1964. The catering company’s dated visuals presented an opportunity to introduce a look and feel that more accurately reflected the company’s brand attributes: caring, stability, versatile and passion. Using a more elegant and sophisticated visual representation, the identity we delivered includes a new logo, as well as the tagline, “A Passion for People, A Passion for Food.”

PUGET SOUND FOOD NETWORK

Local food meets local buyers meets local services. A project of the Northwest Agricultural Business Center, PSFN connects buyers and producers of top quality, local agriculture products. There are similar technology projects around the country going on, but this one came to market faster than almost any of them. Step one - create a brand that reflected a connectivity around agricultural products.

THE NORTHWEST WASHINGTON FAIR

THE NORTHWEST WASHINGTON FAIR

The re-brand of the Northwest Washington Fair was a unique challenge. The Fair is many things to many people, and there is a long tradition associated with the Fair event, which is celebrating it's Centennial in 2010. The blue ribbon was chosen as a symbol of the competition that carries much tradition and meaning to the community at-large, and the agriculture community.
